Several volunteers traveled 37 miles across the desert, towing a B-29 from China Lake to Inyokern to restore it and eventually make it flyable again. |

Officer
Michael Myers...
has been the local D.A.R.E. officer for the Ridgecrest Police Department for the last two years. His attitude and attention to detail has made him an exception rather than a rule. Some children will miss him as a D.A.R.E. officer, but his strength within the Ridgecrest Police Department will carry on in the minds and memories of many, including adults. Way to go officer Myers. Our hat's off to you. Hear Myers and Ryan. |

BJ
Holden...
BJ Holden, a tow pilot since 1976, figures she has as many as 4000 glider tows to date. "There are definitely some hazards involved. Most of them have to do with the guy at the end of the rope. The vulnerable part of the tow is the take-off." Holden recalled an incident where a glider pilot in tow left the spoilers out on take-off which presented a hair raising experience since they generate a lot of drag. |
