Cayucos Water Rescue
After clinging to a rock 200 yds. off shore for nearly an hour, Derek and Aaron Roth were showing signs of hypothermia. When the raft they were in started drifting aimlessly out to sea, they decided to make a jump for a rock. With barely enough strength to hang on and waves breaking over their heads, a lifeguard brought them in one at a time through the kelp and rough surf that almost certainly would have drowned them. The Langley Fire
Raul Estrada and his son escaped their mobile home when it went up in flames. Both were sleeping when the fire started, and by the time it was noticed there wasn't much time. Raul broke the bedroom window and called out for help. Those calls were answered by neighbors Freddie and Zebede Adair.

Firefighters battled flames that eventually overtook them when the door they kicked in generated a backdraft sending flames and firefighters out the door. Enlarge Photo or see the Video. Real Player version or, Windows Media. (High bandwidths only)
